Also, please remember your waste hauler when tipping or gifting this holiday season. Did you know that every year, waste handling is ranked among the Top 10 dirtiest and most dangerous jobs? We owe a bit of gratitude for these guys. Weâd be in a real pile without them.

Indosole is making really cool flip flops out of salvaged motorcycle tires. These are great shoes and they’re even cooler because you can still see the pattern of the tire treads on the bottom of the shoes.

IndoSole says that their sandals are made by people, not machines. They use materials which have been salvaged and re-born. Their goal is to save old motorbike tires and other trash from Indonesian landfills.

This clock was made from an old recycled aluminum bike wheel. The wheel mounts directly to the wall through the hub using a hollow wall anchor and gives the illusion that it is floating off the wall. The clock movement is a high torque German quartz movement and is attached to a set of rear cassette gears to conceal the movement. The movement is attached to the wheel by hanging it off of the hub and is very easy to attach and runs on 1 AA battery, included. The wheel measures 22 3/4 inches in diameter. This clock is made from an actual recycled bike wheel and will show signs of past use, scratches, dings, etc. It will make a great conversation piece on your wall or a special gift for that bike nut you know who is so hard to shop for. You can Create your own clock with an old bike wheel some brackets to hang it and a clock kit. Or you can purchase one from Etsy if you’re not feeling too crafty.

This is a vintage suitcase that has the original light yellow lining inside of it, and has been upcycled!

The exterior is all original, except it has two bright red knobs added to the front, as well as four light yellow legs to allow it to stand. This bed is great because it has hinges in place that allow the top of the suitcase to stay attached to the bottom, and the hinges snap into place to keep the top in place so it won’t fall down on your furry friend.

The top of the suitcase on the interior has a long yellow pocket, which is perfect for storing your pet’s favorite toys!
The pillow case is included, and it has been sewn to fit a standard pillow. Put in one of your pillows and your pet will LOVE it because it smells like you! Or throw in some blankets or old clothes.

This pet bed is perfect for small to medium sized dogs. It closes over the pillow to become portable, just pick it up by the handle and go!
You could create your own, or purchase a ready to sleep bed at Etsy.

Benzie County’s new super store features rows and rows or appliances, furniture, building materials, as well as lighting and plumbing materials. Along with the vast selection, this store has the lowest prices around. I know what you’re thinking, did Benzie get a new WalMart? Not even close. Benzie County is now a proud owner of a Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Traverse City Record Eagle reports that The store is located at 13998 Honor Highway and they are open Wednesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. All items for sale have been donated to Habitat for Humanity so they may be a little used but every item is still in very good working order and have many years left in them. The best part about this store though is that sale proceeds from donated items go toward Habitat projects in Benzie County. RecycleChicken loves Habitat ReStores, they take your used stuff off your hands, save you money, and help your local community.
